Can chickens eat cilantro?

Why

Cilantro is non-toxic and offers vitamins and antioxidants that can be beneficial for your flock. However, because it is high in water content and can affect digestion if fed in excess, it should only be offered occasionally rather than daily.

If you do feed it

• Offer only fresh, washed leaves and stems; avoid wilted or moldy greens.
• Limit treats to no more than 10% of their total daily food intake.
• Chop the cilantro into smaller pieces to prevent choking and make it easier to eat.
• Introduce it slowly to ensure it doesn't cause loose droppings.

• Sweetened or seasoned cilantro dishes meant for humans
• Moldy or rotting greens
