Can cats eat steak?

Why

Steak is a good source of protein for cats, but raw meat carries a risk of harmful bacteria and parasites. Additionally, fatty cuts can cause digestive upset or pancreatitis, and bones pose a serious choking or internal injury hazard.

If you do feed it

• Serve only fully cooked, lean meat with all fat and gristle trimmed off.
• Cut into tiny, bite-sized pieces to prevent choking and ensure easy digestion.
• Limit treats to no more than 10% of the cat's daily calorie intake.
• Never feed steak with onions, garlic, salt, or other seasonings.

Watch out for
