Can cats eat oranges?

Why

Oranges contain citric acid and essential oils that can upset a cat's stomach, and the high sugar content is unnecessary for obligate carnivores. The peel and seeds are particularly problematic and should always be removed before offering any fruit.

If you do feed it

Offer only a small piece of peeled, seedless flesh as a rare treat
Ensure the orange is fresh and free of pesticides or waxes
Monitor for vomiting or diarrhea after consumption
Do not offer orange juice or sweetened citrus products
