Can cats eat cucumbers?

Why

Cucumbers are mostly water and fiber, which can cause stomach upset or diarrhea if a cat eats too much. Some cats may also find the texture or taste unappealing, so forcing them to eat it is unnecessary.

If you do feed it

• Peel the cucumber to remove the tough skin which can be hard to digest
• Cut into tiny, bite-sized pieces to prevent choking
• Offer only one or two small pieces as an occasional treat, not a meal
• Ensure the cucumber is plain and free of salt, spices, or seasonings

• large chunks that pose a choking hazard
• cucumber skin that may be difficult to digest
