Can cats eat corn?

Why

Cats are obligate carnivores and do not require corn in their diet, so it offers little nutritional value for them. While plain corn is generally safe, it can be difficult for some cats to digest and may cause stomach upset if fed too frequently.

• Serve only plain, cooked corn kernels without any butter, salt, or seasonings.

Watch out for

• Sweetened corn products like corn syrup or sugary treats
• Corn on the cob which poses a choking or intestinal blockage risk
