Can dogs eat strawberries?

Why

Strawberries are non-toxic and packed with vitamins and antioxidants, but their high sugar content means they should only be offered as an occasional snack. The seeds and leaves are generally harmless, but the fruit itself can cause stomach upset if a dog eats too much at once.

If you do feed it

• Wash the strawberries thoroughly and remove the green leafy tops before serving.
• Cut the berries into small, bite-sized pieces to prevent choking, especially for small dogs.
• Limit treats to no more than 10% of your dog's daily calorie intake.
• Introduce strawberries slowly to ensure your dog does not have a sensitive stomach reaction.
